New Family of Dual Takeups

Royle Systems Group LLC, Pompton Lakes, NJ USA, offers a family of shaft-type automatic dual takeups for production speeds up to 1000 mpm (3300 fpm).  The family includes three sizes -- 630 mm (25”),

800 mm (32”), and 1000 mm (40”), .  The dual takeups are designed for the manufacture of insulated and jacketed products to about 18mm (3/4”) maximum OD when the total area of the conductor does not exceed about 6 awg.  The takeups are intended for applications such as control wires, automotive wires, coaxial cables, and building wires.  The units are designed for operating reliability, reduction of setup time, and ease of maintenance.

All units feature:

· Fully automatic crossover at all speeds

· Precise traversing system for layer and trapezoidal winding

· AC Vector drives for reel motors

· AC servo drives for traverse system

· Pushout mechanism with loading ramp or platform

· External dancers for easier startup

A color touchscreen display provides the operator an easy window to the process.  All control logic is performed within the Allen-Bradley PLC.  The units are self-contained and include safety circuits. Crossovers can be initiated at predetermined lengths or manually by the operator.

New Series of Roll-thru Floor Traversing Payoffs & Takeups

Royle Systems Group LLC, Pompton Lakes, NJ, USA, introduces a new series of floor traversing roll-through payoffs and takeups for a wide range of reel sizes and applications.  The new family of payoffs and takeups can accommodate reel flanges up to 2.8 meter (110”) and weights to 12000 kg (13 ton).  All units are ruggedly designed with features that are attractive to operators and maintenance personnel. 

Standard features include:

· Variable frequency motors eliminate the need for changegear transmissions

· Complete electrical control system is integrated on the machine frame – no separate electrical enclosures are required

· Automatic or manual reel changing procedures allow easy handling of reels

· Remote handheld controller for loading and unloading eliminates pendent arms

· PLC controller with MMI ergonomically located on the machines

· All components available “off-the-shelf”
