Moscow, Russia - Russian Shows Create Positive Impetus for Metallergy Industry
|
Despite the slump in global economic markets, exhibitors and visitors at Metallurgy-Litmash, Tube Russia, Aluminium Non-Ferrous 2009 and wire Russia 2009 rated the trade fairs as a source of positive impetus for the metallurgy industry. Held on 86,100 square feet of net exhibit space at the Expocentre in Moscow, the two trade fairs attracted 9,200 visitors from Russia and surrounding regions. Metallurgy Litmash, Tube Russia and Aluminium/Non-Ferrous 2009 featured 254 exhibitors from 29 countries, while wire Russia 2009 presented the products of 214 companies from 29 nations. Special highlights were the country group exhibits from Austria, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Taiwan and the U.S.
Regardless of the economic crisis, Russia and its neighboring countries are among the fastest growing regions in the world. Demand for high quality products from international suppliers remains strong since state-of-the-art technology is still needed to upgrade existing facilities and investments are going ahead accordingly.

Pischelsdorf, Austria - WIRE RUSSIA 2007 - Review Nextrom & Rosendahl
|
The Wire was a successful event, with many visitors, the people
visiting our booth where mainly key-people from Russia and CIS
– countries.
NEXTROM & ROSENDAHL can clearly distinguish
an increased fiber demand in Russia and in the CIS countries,
continuous discussions on existing projects and future ones
took place during the wire, covering the whole product range.
The extended market presence for Nextrom & Rosendahl in
Europe has made Russia one of our key-markets, and an object
for large investments. Several contracts where signed, which
confirms that Rosendahl and Nextrom made the right decision
when establishing a Russian Headquarter. A large interest in
the energy field was recognized, which illustrates a promising
future growth and success on these markets also within this
segment.
On behalf of the whole team of NEXTROM & ROSENDAHL,
we thank all our business colleagues who visited us during the

Moscow Russia - Maillefer & Gauder Group combine sales and marketing in CIS region.
|
Maillefer's long established Moscow office returned to business as usual following an exceptional week at Wire Russia. Vitaly Meschanov and Alexander Chamov together with members of the Russian team hosted about 200 visitors representing more than 50 cable plants. Important negotiations and quality discussions kept Maillefer personnel and stand resources fully occupied. Significant deals totaling over 9 million Euros were made, the company said in a Wire Russia wrap-up release Tuesday. During the event, Maillefer and Borealis held a common seminar entitled Cabling Innovation. Antti-Jussi Rissanen made a presentation on the future of the cable industry in the CIS, while Jorma Leppanen presented the latest CV line innovations. Mr. Peshkov from the Electrocable and VNIIKP associations shared his thoughts on the latest developments and trends for the CIS cable industry. Maillefer occupied the stand location with representatives of the Gauder Group. Indeed, both companies have an agreement for combining sales and marketing efforts within the CIS region. This proved convenient during busy negotiations for common projects. Each company's individuality was highlighted by use of separate company colors on each side of the stand.

Wire
Russia 2007 run by Messe Dusseldorf held in Moscow, Russia is
being held in conjunction with 3 other events, tube Russia 2007,
SHK Mockba, and Schweissen & Schneiden. This year wire Russia hosted
234 exhibitors from 29 countries on a net space of 4.508,75
sqm. Official group participation's included Germany, Italy,
France, Spain, U.S.A., Great Britain and Austria.
The
attendance has been steady throughout the Wire Russia show with
the second and third days having the most, starting off a little
slower on the Monday and finishing with a crawl on Thursday.
Expectations of the organizer, Messe is over 10,000 visitors
throughout the 4 day show, May 28-31.
With temperatures over 30degrees
Celsius, it has been unusually warm in the city making it very
interesting to get to the show without perspiring too much.
The show however is organized well with air conditioning and
a clean atmosphere.
Russia has continued to grow and maintains a significant level
of business providing plenty of opportunity for the wire
& cable industry. One interesting thing to note is the amount
of visitors who do speak english. 2 years ago in 2005, there
were noticeably few visitors who could speak in english - which
has changed in only 2 years.
Please check back soon for a complete overview of the show
with statistics of the show provided from the organizers.

Best-selling cold welder in action at wire Russia (stand
F09)
PWM,
world-leading British designer and manufacturer of cold welding
equipment and dies, will exhibit its best-selling HP100 cold
welder at wire Russia 2007. This air/hydraulic model is increasingly
popular with wire and cable manufacturers because of its reliable
performance, durability and low maintenance costs. Capable of
welding non-ferrous wire and strip from 1.00mm to 5.00mm, the
HP100 has a solid steel welding head for added strength and
stability. Trolley-mounted for convenience and ease of use,
the HP100 is powered by an air/hydraulic intensifier easily
activated by a foot pedal. A longer hose can be fitted between
the welding head and the power source in order to make the welding
head portable. This enables welding to take place where space
is limited, at a strander lay plate, for example, or inside
a spooler casing.
Also on show will be PWM's range of manually
operated models. This includes the popular M101, a versatile
bench/trolley mounted machine with a capacity of 1.00mm to 3.60mm
copper and 1.00mm to 5.00mm EC aluminium; two bench mounted
models, and three lightweight, hand-held machines, ideal for
welding in confined spaces.
PWM's new Russian language website at www.pwmltd.co.uk
offers full details of PWM’s range of high performance
cold pressure welders and dies, a demonstration of the cold
weld process and a comprehensive Q&A section.

Wien, Vienna - Invitation to meet Eder Engineering at their stand in Wire Russia 07 - 1-G 01
|
Like
in 2003 and 2005, EDER Engineering-Austria will have a large Stand
at Wire Russia 07, located in the Austrian Pavilion again. Being
active in the former USSR since 1956, Russia and the C.I.S. always

die-tools and particularly for leading die-tool working machines,
designed under over 60 years of specialization and as very easy
to understand and to operate conceptions.
The Russian wire and cable producing industry
is increasingly aware of the fact that only perfectly
produced and – beside these - perfectly repaired drawing
dies are drawing good wire and EDER-Austria is supporting them
with the right high degree automatic equipment to compensate increasingly
less human skills available in the die workshops. Single machines
for upgrading of an already existing infrastructure, completely
equipped die reconditioning workshops, but also complete die-tool
production lines in state-of-the-art technology are continuously
supplied to regular customers from Moscow down to Sibiria and
of course all under full valid GOST-R certification.

Brantford, Ontario - Reviewing the 2005 Wire Russia Event
|
| Wire Russia ended last week with most exhibitors pleased at the overall show experience. While the real results will present themselves perhaps months from now with enquires and leads being followed up, the optimism about Russia continues. This being my first visit to Russia, I was quite naive to the dramatic difference in Russian culture, etiquette or lack there of, and personal correspondence. The business environment here in Russia does seem to be quite hostile to outsiders. The show set-up was a bit chaotic and scurried, but did pull together with a lot of class. The dignitaries opened up the show, and with a big relief, the show went on. Messe does know how to put on a show, and they did provide an excellent opportunity for business to culture and grow in this new environment for many.

Moscow, Russia - Day 2 and 3 report in Moscow
|
| Day 2 and 3 have proven to meet most of the exhibitors expectations for attendance and interest. Although most people agree the visitor attendance was higher two years ago, the quality of those moving from booth to booth is good. Many good enquires and even some filled orders have been reported. The good weather and pleasant people have shown to raise spirits and the Russian economy is fulfilling the notions of a growing economy. The hunt now is on for many companies to secure good Russian agents and dig deep into this emerging market. Once again, Wire World was correct in the anticipation of good things in Russia with it´s fully translated site in Russian.
