Cleaning
Before the wire can be plated or coated it is absolutely imperative to remove any surface impurities such as lubricant residue, surface oxides and process oil. To accomplish this several different processes may be employed of which the most common are:
Chemical (caustic and acid)
and
Electrolytic bipolar (Multi strand)
and
Electrolytic bipolar (Single strand)
