ROEX: the new extruder generation of Rosendahl

Rosendahl as an extruder manufacturer with experience lasting for decades has introduced the newest generation of extruders. The new extruders are characterized by even higher output with best melt quality. The combination of new barrel and screw design provides higher output with perfect linearity independent of back pressure. A grooved insert, part of the entry section sleeve, is replaceable and either water cooled or temperature controlled by an external cooling/heating device.

In order to reach maximum endurance, barrels and screws are made of high-quality steel and nitrided. Due to high stress in the feeding section the screw thread is additionally armoured. For special applications the barrel can be made of extremely wear resistant bi-metal. For uniform and high efficient cooling the flow channels have been optimised. To increase heating and cooling efficiency the covers of the flow channels are double walled to provide thermal insulation thus higher energy efficiency.

A “direct-drive”-concept with AC-technology provides a high performance gearbox with integrated thrust bearing directly driven by built in AC motors, providing optimised torque and speed for the materials to be processed.

An optimised foot print and an operating side independent designed guarantee space saving arrangement of the machine even on applications where several extruders are connected to a single cross head. Optionally to the fixed installed version following features are available:

■ CO-Extruders, moveable in all three dimensions
