Vernon N.Y August 21-22 Magnetic Analysis Corporation (MAC) introduces
2 new eddy current testers
Magnetic Analysis Corporation (MAC®) has introduced its latest design
Minimac® MAC 40 eddy current tester, for simple, economical production
line testing of tubing, bar, wire and parts. The Minimac MAC 40 system
can detect laps, seams, slivers, cracks, and weld line faults in magnetic
and nonmagnetic grades of material at speeds up to 4,000 f.p.m. The
system is also designed for locating welds and continuity checking of
single- and multi-conductor insulated wire and cable. For full press

spinning probe rotary eddy current tester, also introduced the ROTOMAC®
9 nondestructive test system. The latest in MAC's line of rotary testers,
this technology is the method of choice to detect long, seam-type defects
in wire, tubing, or bar stock. Hot rolled and cold finished product
can be tested in-line as part of a production process (such as cold
drawing), or as a separate test operation. The ROTOMAC 9 features high
flaw frequency resolution for today's higher rpm rotaries, as well as
a real-time, flat panel color display of wave forms reflecting true
phase and amplitude. The wider oscillating frequency range (50 Khz to
1Mhz) combined with the high frequency capacity rotary mechanism and
test probes, enhance the ability to detect unusually shallow defects
(as small as .001" deep depending on the material under test). For full
