QED FastHeat™ Furnaces Replace Older Fluidbeds

QED announces the successful commissioning this summer of two FastHeat™ fluidbed furnaces. One, a large five zone furnace for The Cavatorta Group’s Metallurgica Abruzzese plant in Italy, is a significant technology upgrade from an older, tile based, fluidbed furnace. A second QED furnace, installed at Mid-South Wire in Nashville, also replaced a maintenance prone tile type fluidbed. Both customers are pleased with the smooth installation and high quality of equipment.
These furnaces incorporate the latest in fluidbed technology with an “Interlaced” air and gas distribution manifold (patent pending) providing a burner system with execellent fluidization characteristics. Our “Injected Gas” system introduces the fuel at high velocity, immediately prior to the fluidizing chamber, thus preventing the flashback problems of older designs. QED’s unique “Labyrinth-seal” threading slot improves thermal efficiency and lowers maintenance costs.
Our fluidbeds are built for high wire speeds with air & gas flows optimized for fuel efficiency. Ruggedly constructed with heavy gauge retort walls of high nickel alloy steel, these furnaces withstand the stresses of time and high thermal cycling.
