QED’s FastHeat™ Fluidbed
QED’s FastHeat™ Fluidbed furnaces incorporate
innovative and cost effective design features in a robust structure.
Our interlaced air-gas distribution manifold (patent pending) provides
a burner system with unparalleled fluidization characteristics.
This design eliminates the high capital cost and history of maintenance
problems that are associated with the ceramic tiles used on older
furnaces. Our new injected fuel system permits the use of a variety
of gases, while eliminating flashback problems.
Another feature of QED’s fluidbed design
is our “labyrinth seal” threading slot that combines
easy wire threading with a positive dynamic seal. The older threading
slot designs use curtains or doors that are subject to high maintenance
costs and increased heat losses.
The goals of lower maintenance costs and smoother
operations have also led to our reworking of the traditionally problematic
sand return system. QED’s double sand return is driven by
special eductors with directional changes through vortex elbows
and distribution boxes. All components combine high wear resistance
with efficient sand conveying.
Not satisfied with only these changes, ours engineers
have come up with other innovative designs including:
- Rugged wire protection devices inside the furnace
- Pilot cooling for longer life and better flame stability
- Compact air & gas piping for easier installation and
less floor space
- Air & gas flow indicating manometer board
QED’s fluidbeds are designed for high wire
speeds and custom built to suit your production. Our dedication
to quality assures that every operational detail has been considered,
right down to the pneumatic operated doors that are designed to
save heat energy and operator's time.
