Nova Capital Management acquires Coas...

Nova Capital Management Ltd ("Nova") the specialist acquirer of corporate and private equity portfolios is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of five industrial businesses in the USA. The acquired businesses comprised all of the operating subsidiaries of Latshaw Enterprises, Inc., a US based industrial group.



Equity financing for the acquisition was provided by a syndicate comprising Nova Capital Management and Caledonia Investments plc ("Caledonia"), an investment company quoted on the London Stock Exchange. GSO Capital Partners (part of the Blackstone Group) and PNC Bank provided the debt financing.

At the end of September, Addis Ababa — Ethiopia inaugurated a wire and cable production factory and a truck assembling factory executed in cooperation with a Chinese company Poly Technologies in Modjo town about 80 km south west of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.



The Chinese company has also collaborated with the Metals Engineering Cooperation of Ethiopia for the execution of heavy truck assembly plant in Bishoftu town about 45 km south west of Addis Ababa.

Nexans Exploring Interest in Selling ...

A press release on the website of global wire and cable giant Nexans says it’s considering offers for its Berk-Tek business unit, which focuses on low-voltage cable for U.S. local area network applications and generates annual sales of approximately $200 million.



The release said, “Following receipt of expressions of interest, Nexans is exploring the possibility of the sale of its Berk-Tek copper and fiber cable activity in the US.”

TATA Steel urges AD of at Least 20pct...

TATA Steel Plc has asked the government to impose anti dumping duties of at least 20% on steel wire from China as the company struggles to compete against subsidized imports that are as much as 14% cheaper than its own products in the local market.Mr Thana Reungsilasing VP of TATA Steel Plc said that Chinese steel wire is priced between THB 17,000 and THB 18,000 per tonne as compared to THB 21,000 for the domestic variety. PSE Operator plans $3.1bn Investment ...

Polish power grid operator PSE is planning to invest PLN9.9bn ($3.1bn) for power grid upgrades, including enhancing the national electricity transmission network and building power lines during next five years.



The Konstancin-Jeziorna-based firm's board has approved the investment plan which includes constructing about 5,000km of power lines and upgrading 2,000 existing ones.



As per the plan, the company would construct a 10,400kV transmission line, four 220 kV transmission lines, ten substations, and expand 39 power stations.
