Canterbury Engineering has the capability to manufacture and rebuild screws and barrels for extruders and injection molding machines. We provide complete service on Screw/Barrel, e.g.

    Canterbury Engineering can manufacture, or rebuild screw up to 18" diameter by 30 feet long, and barrels up to 12" ID.

    Materials

    CEC's standard base material for screws is AISI 4140 heat treated and stress relieved to 28-32 RC. OD of flights are either flame hardened or hard faced with:

  • Colmonoy® #56
  •     
  • Colmonoy #83
  • Tungsten Carbide
  •     
  • Coltung
  •  
    Additional hardfacing can be provided as specified. Other common base materials are Hastelloy®, Stainless Steel, and AISI D2, Inconel, CPM, 10V, 17-4 PH.

    CEC provides a one to two day service on urgent requests like broken screws, screws stuck in the barrels, etc.
