The Centerbury Engineering Company Advantage

Growing through Service

Canterbury Engineering was founded in a small town, Canterbury, Connecticut, in 1975. It was started as a small, single owned company making tooling for wire and cable by Vijay Anand. Canterbury was moved to its present location in Atlanta, Georgia in 1978, where it became incorporated in August, 1980.

The Company built its first 3,000 sq. ft. building in Atlanta in 1980. In mid-1982 the company purchased 13 acres with about 10,000 sq. ft. of building space and added Screw and Barrel rebuilding and manufacturing.

By mid-1984 the Tooling and Screw and Barrel business mas moved to a new 25,000 sq. ft. building, specifically constructed to meet Canterbury products manufacturing needs.

In early 1995, Canterbury Engineering added 6,000 square feet of manufacturing space to bring the total footage to over 35,000 square feet. The new area houses all feed screw cutting machinery. The space made available by moving the screw department is being used to increase the CNC manufacturing of tips and dies. The building and equipment additions will allow Canterbury Engineering to increase its feed screw, crosshead and tips/dies manufacturing capabilities by 30%.

Since 1982, CEC has shipped internationally. Being a worldwide supplier and a one stop source for quality tips/dies, crossheads and screws/barrels has helped Canterbury Engineering realize substantial growth over the last 20 years.
