Parker Hannifin Winds Northwind Cable Deal

The Northwind NV joint venture has awarded Parker Hannifin a contract to supply the infield array cables and accessories for the 216MW Northwind wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
The agreement, first reported in reNews in April, also includes offshore services as well as the design, production and delivery of 51km of 36kV subsea power cables from Parker"s energy products division.
The cables, with built in fiber-optic communication lines, will form the array grid for the wind farm as well as connecting all 72 Vestas 3MW wind turbines to an offshore substation.
Wire will be shipped from Parker"s deep-water quay in Tønsberg, Norway, during spring 2013.
Parker will also supply cable accessories and provide experienced offshore service teams to perform the termination and testing of the supplied cables.
