Judge Approves Sale of RG Steel Yorks...

A federal bankruptcy judge in Delaware has approved the sale of RG Steel's assets at its Yorkville, Ohio, facility to Esmark Steel Group.
Esmark bid $4.75 million for the Yorkville assets last month, agreeing to offer jobs to at least 230 employees at the site. Esmark offered an additional $400,000 for mineral interests related to the Yorkville sale.
The judge approved the sale at a hearing Wednesday, Aug 15th 2012. RG Steel also is seeking court approval of the sale of facilities in Sparrows Point, Md., and Warren, Ohio.

Holland Wire Products Inc. will be consolidated into a North Carolina plant, a company spokesman confirmed, affecting jobs for nearly 40 Holland workers.
"
We didn't need two plants running at under-capacity," said Bobby Bush, spokesman for Hickory Springs Manufacturing Co., which owns Holland Wire Products as a wholly-owned subsidiary. "The decision about our Holland wire plant was not a easy one."
The decision means that 39 hourly and salaried employees have a choice between losing their jobs or re-locating to a plant near Hickory Spring's headquarters in North Carolina. The equipment from the Holland plant at 955 Brooks Ave. will be packed up and moved to ...
