ALUMOWELD AWARDED ISO 9002 CERTIFICATION

Duncan, SC--The United States Alumoweld Company (USAC) has been awarded ISO 9002 certification on its first attempt by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, with only one minor citing. This is the result of a total company effort that required 15 months to achieve.

USAC Chief Executive Officer Jeff Underwood states, "We are very pleased to have attained ISO certification in keeping with our goal of supporting our customer's quality requirements. We believe that our continued efforts on quality, customer service and cost reduction will enable us to serve our customers in the foreseeable future."

AlumoweldŽ is aluminum-clad steel wire and strand that is used as overhead ground wire, neutral messenger, or guy wire in utility and antenna industries worldwide. It is also used as the strength and protection component in optical ground wire; and as the primary raw material in helically formed accessories for transmission and distribution lines.
